    Position Summary:

    The Montreal office of BDO Canada LLP has a fantastic opportunity for an Accounting Manager, Outsourcing to support the growing needs of our office. This is a brand new position for the region’s Outsourcing group, where we complete clients’ day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions. The successful candidates must be bilingual in French and English, have vast experience in a wide variety of industries, lead by example, and have a combination of technical, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. The Accounting Manager, Outsourcing will have the opportunity to delegate tasks of various sizes, mentor future leaders and advise clients towards their business needs. The role will also entail sales and quoting for prospects in both Montreal office as well as the entire Eastern region. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Outsourcing in Barrie Centre.


    Key Accountabilities and responsibilities:

    • Advise clients on accounting issues in various industries
    • Provide technical and project management leadership to team members for accounting related engagements
    • Thorough review of accounting and bookkeeping assignments to ensure professional standards are met
    • Assist in the development and delivery of practical business advice for clients
    • Ensure staff are meeting all client deadlines
    • Effective communication with clients, partners and staff
    • Provide coaching and training to staff members
    • Prepare or add input towards performance evaluations for staff
    • Occasional travel to various BDO offices or client locations is required in the Eastern region
    • Provide quotes to clients or partners on prospects in the Eastern region
    • Provide sales support to prospects in the Eastern region

    Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

    • Professional accounting designation is considered an asset (CPA)
    • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience (prior experience in public accounting is an asset)
    • Bilingual in English & French (oral & written)
    • Working accounting knowledge of multiple industries is required
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Developed oral and written communication skills
    • Strong ability to prioritize, delegate and manage conflicting priorities
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
    • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team is considered an asset
