    Position Summary

    We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager or Senior Manager, Transaction Tax in our Toronto office. The successful candidate will deliver outstanding client service on due diligence engagements for both strategic and private equity buyers and sellers, as well as be involved in analyzing and structuring a wide range of transactions.

     

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    • Manage due diligence engagements and determine potential tax liabilities and exposures in both strategic and private equity transactions and, with the team, prepare due diligence reports.
    • Structure transactions including those related to acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations.
    • Analyze tax issues and prepare written advice.
    • Establish relationships with existing and potential clients and with BDO colleagues across service lines.
    • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to assist existing and potential clients.

     

     Education and Professional Skills / Knowledge

    • Professional designation required (CPA CA, CPA CMA, CPA CGA) or Juris Doctorate with Accounting or Tax, or Master's degree in Taxation
    • Minimum of 5-8 years of Canadian tax experience (M&A tax experience would be an asset)
    • Proven project management skills
    • Management / Supervisory experience
    • Excellent presentation/business development skills
    • Strong writing, research and analytical skills
    • Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
