    Position Summary


    We are currently seeking an entrepreneurial-minded Manager, Strategy and Operations Consulting to be a key contributor to our expanding Ottawa office.  As a Manager, you will play a leading role in the delivery of our consulting services to Healthcare organizations, assist with cultivation of client relationships and preparation of proposals to continue our successful and sustained growth.   


    We are seeking individuals with Healthcare industry experience in the following areas:

    • Governance
    • Strategic and Operational Planning
    • Performance Management
    • Analytics/Business Intelligence
    • Business Process Reengineering
    • Costing and Efficiency Analysis

    This management consulting role is best suited for individuals with a track record in developing business and delivering quality consulting services within the Healthcare industry.  The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate their ability to develop and grow client relationships in the National Capital Region.


    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

    • Deliver consulting projects from initiation to closure with support from partners, senior managers and team, ensuring client satisfaction;
    • Build and grow lasting client relationships;
    • Responsible for on-time and on-budget project delivery with a high-level of quality;
    • Support RFP responses or proposals, building market eminence, and pursuing new client opportunities;
    • Build strong internal relationships within BDO and with other services across the organization;
    • Act with professionalism and integrity when working with confidential and sensitive information;
    • Participate in the evolution of BDO’s intellectual capital in the area of health and social;
    • Share knowledge and experience with peers and less experienced staff;
    • Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering, with an ability to combine complex ideas and present information clearly and effectively;
    • Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.


    Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a management consulting / professional services environment
    • Demonstrated experience in leading or participating in consulting assignments in the Healthcare industry;
    • A proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships;
    • A high degree of professionalism and autonomy;
    • Proven facilitation and interview skills;
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills;
    • Very strong and proven analytical skills; and
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • An ability to establish strong and positive relationships with colleagues
    • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance
    • Professional credentials such as a CMC, MPA or an MBA  will be considered an asset
    • Experience with the federal government or crown corporations will be considered an asset
