    Your opportunity

    Our London (position could also be based in Collingwood) office is looking for a Manager to join Indirect Tax team and own the following responsibilities:

    • Advise the firm’s clients on the application of indirect taxes in a business context and ensuring appropriate compliance procedures
    • Provide indirect tax advice in various firm mandates, such as business acquisitions/disposition or restructuring
    • Participate actively in developing indirect tax mandates
    • Analyze assessment projects, or assessments, and represent clients in disputes with government authorities
    • Perform research on indirect tax issues; write tax memorandums
    • Participate in internal and external client training, and training of junior indirect tax staff

    How do we define success for your role?

    • You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.
    • You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
    • You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.
    • You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.
    • You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

    Your experience and education

    • You have completed your CPA designation or hold a Law degree
    • Hold, or in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Tax, or completed CPA Canada’s “In-Depth Tax Course” is an asset
    • At least three years’ experience in indirect taxes
    • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
    • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
