    Overview

     

    The BDO Bracebridge/Huntsville office is seeking a Tax Technician to work in our Domestic Tax Group. Our Tax Technicians are responsible for a wide variety of tax related tasks and report to our Tax Managers and Tax Partners.

     

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

     

    • Preparing tax returns
    • Communicate with CRA and clients
    • Reviewing notices of (re)assessment and statement of accounts and following up as required
    • Reviewing returns, adjustments and tax slips
    • Reviewing tax history for new clients to ensure that filings are up-to-date
    • Preparing the filings for non-resident disposition tax filings (T2062)
    • Researching cost base amounts, property histories from old tax returns
    • Preparing schedules, background information and calculations as part of our reorganization files.
    • Assistance with GST/HST work - preparing calculations, completing forms, etc. 
    • Provide administrative duties as required
    • Ad hoc requests  

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Post-secondary education is an asset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Excellent inter-personal skills
    • Excellent client service skills

     

    Please note that this role is flexible to be either a full time or a part time position
