    Position Summary


    BDO’s Financial Recovery Services (FRS) practice has established a reputation for uncompromising commitment to service, quality and results.  Our financial recovery specialists provide creative, constructive, and cost-effective solutions for troubled companies and individuals.  Our professionals combine their business management, analytical and insolvency skills with hands-on industry experience to ensure our clients receive consistent and personalized service.


    Our Halifax Financial Recovery Services office has an immediate opening for an organized and professional individual that is adaptable, has strong interpersonal skills, is comfortable with numbers and is able to function within a strong team environment.  The successful candidate will be responsible for various office functions related to corporate financial recovery file administration.


    Responsibilities will include:

    • Assist in managing corporate recovery accounts to optimize outcome
    • Utilization of internet portals to facilitate reporting to lending institutions
    • Setting up client files and assisting in the preparation of applications to Court
    • Communicating with stakeholders, including arranging creditor and inspector meetings, preparing and filing meeting minutes
    • Preparing and issuing correspondence for Trustees
    • Preparing client billings
    • Communicating with the Canada Revenue Agency
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accounts receivable ledgers, including collections.
    • Preparing and issuing correspondence to and liaising with suppliers, vendors, employees, landlords etc., where applicable
    • Preparation of statutory notices and legal documents
    • Bank reconciliations on all corporate bankruptcies, proposals, and receiverships
    • Various other duties for FRS team as required


    Qualifications & Behavioral Competencies will include:

    • Degree in Business studies considered an asset
    • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
    • Candidates that have received their CPA designation are preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Superior customer service experience
    • Must be able to liaise well with staff and outside parties
    • Able to prioritize with the flexibility to manage multiples tasks and a variable workload as required
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Must work well within a team
