Job Description (EN)

Position Summary:

 

The Essex Office of BDO Canada has an opening for a seasonal Administrative Assistant. This will be a contracted, position with part-time hours (15-22.5 hrs/week) from February to mid-March, and full-time hours (37.5 hrs/week) from then until mid-May.

 

Working hours for this position will be Monday to Friday with the potential for some Saturday morning work. We are seeking an individual who has demonstrated abilities to deal with confidential issues in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical.  This individual must be adaptable to the multiple demands of the position and must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Some overtime work will be required.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • General administrative duties including photocopying, scanning and mass mailings
  • Typing of correspondence and various documents
  • Quality management of paper and electronic files such as scanning and embedding documentation
  • Assist with reception coverage as required - greeting clients and responding/directing incoming calls
  • Assist with sign in and allocation of T1 Tax Returns 
  • Printing and assembly of T1 Tax Returns
  • PDF preparation and transmission of final documents under the direction of Admin support team
  • Various other administrative support duties as directed

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new programs such as TaxPrep and CCH
