Position Summary

Reporting to the National Director, Learning and Organizational Development, the Manager, CPA Student Program is responsible for effective, timely and accurate management of all national aspects of the Firm's CPA Student Program.

 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Audit, evaluate and implement changes to improve the effectiveness of the Firm's Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Student Program
  • Administer and manage all national aspects of the CPA Student Program for the Firm including:
    • Implementing a firm-wide CPA Student Program across all Provincial Institutes and educational bodies
    • Designing and implementing a communication and training plan for all CPA Student Program stakeholders
    • On-boarding CPA Students
    • Working with the L&OD team on the design and implementation of the CPA Student internal education program (virtual sessions, practice examinations, program evaluations, etc)
    • Liaising with Provincial Institutes and educational bodies
    • Identifying, selecting and coordinating registrations for CPA external preparatory programs
    • Reviewing and updating CPA Student policies and procedures
    • Maintaining CPA knowledge centre and learning plans in our virtual university and knowledge base
    • Providing support to CPA Students and firm stakeholders (e.g. pre-approved program leaders, CPA Mentors and Talent Acquisition Team Members)
    • Working with the National Office teams to recognize CPA graduates, CPA mentors and CPA coordinators
    • Coordinating medal, honour roll and recognition awards for CPA students
    • Maintaining CPA student supervision database and validating this information with Provincial Institutes
    • Working with our conference services team to coordinate CPA convocation events
    • Providing ad-hoc reporting on the CPA student program
    • Prepare and submit the CPA student budget
  • Assist the National Director, Learning and Organizational Development in managing external vendor relationships for the CPA student program
  • Provide CPA Information support to CPA students, regional and local office personnel and HR teams.

 

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience with CPA Education and CPA Designation
  • University or college degree; Adult Education certificate and asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong skills in identifying issues and defining solutions
  • Strong client service skills
